Playing without two starters, the Pinkin gave Isabela their best shot, but
fell short, losing to the Playeras 3-1 in a match played tonight at Corozal.
The Pinkin, already without Cassie Busse because of injury, didn't have
their setter, Vilmarie Mojica because of back pains. The scores of the match
were 25-16, 19-25, 25-16 and 38-36. Now Corozal travels to Mayaguez on
Sunday for its final game of the regular season, and might need a little
help to get in the playoffs. |

Corozal had an erratic start in the first
game and could not get closer than 6 points, losing 25-16. In the second
game, The Pinkin showed poise and got a 25-19 win behind a balanced offense
and solid defense. In the third, Corozal went back to problems with running
their offense and fell 25-16. Corozal led most of the way in the fourth, but
Isabela pulled even at 23, and after a great offensive and defensive battle,
Isabela won, 38-36. For Corozal, Jessenia Resto had 24 points, and for
Isabela, Sarah Butler had 29.
