2.5.04 - The Pinkin beat the first-place Isabela Playeras, 3-1, behind a great defensive effort and 27 points from Cassie Busse. Corozal now improves to 4 victories and 6 defeats, and is now in sixth place on the league standings. The Pinkin play the Caguas Criollas on Saturday at Corozal. The Pinkin took control of the match early and had 4 to 5 point leads in both of the first two games before Isabela came back to close the gap late. The first and the second match ended in 25-23 victories for Corozal. In the third, again the Pinkin had the lead late, but miscues allow the Playeras to take the lead 22-21, and to win the game 25-22. In the fourth, however, Corozal quickly erased a 2 point deficit, and took a comanding 19-10 lead on-route to a 25-13 win that sealed the victory in the match. For the Pinkin, Cassie Busse, 27 points, and Tejaria Ruíz, 14. For Isabela, Sarah Butler had 23 points.
