- The Pinkin missed on a good chance to raise their playoff hopes by losing
to Guaynabo 3-0 in a match played at Corozal's Carmen Z. Figueroa Gym. The
scores of the games were 25-22, 25-19, and 25-15 for the visiting Conquistadoras. Corozal travels to Mayaguez on Tuesday to play the 3-11
Indias.
The Pinkin
struggled throughout the match, not being able to establish themselves
offensively because of poor reception and ball handling. They had to play
catch-up to a Guaynabo team that touched a lot of balls on blocking, and
that defended their side of the court very well. Corozal's coaching staff
tried to make some moves to spark the team, but Guaynabo continued their
winning ways up to the third game, and won the match three games to none.
For the Corozal Pinkin, the best scorer was Rayma Robles with 11 points.
