Corozal got a important victory in their quest to make the playoffs by
beating the Bayamón Vaqueras, 3-0 in match played at Bayamón's Gym. The game
scores were, 25-22, 26-24 and 25-19. Corozal's next game is at home when
they host the Guaynabo Conquistadoras on Saturday February 21st at 8:30 pm. Corozal came
out with better concentration and more energy to the game, and it showed in
a first-game win, where their only real obstacle were their many serve
errors. Good, distributed, offense help Corozal win the second game, 26-24,
after Bayamón had rallied from down 24-22 to tie it. In the third, Cassie
Busse took over on offense and on defense, where she got several key blocks,
and the Pinkin won the match, 3-0. For the Corozal Pinkin, Cassie Busse was
the best scorer with 20 points (14 kills, 6 blocks). Meanwhile, for the
Bayamón Vaqueras, both Michelle Collier and Laura Pilakowsky scored 8 |
