1.24.04 - The Pinkin got their third victory of the season by beating the Bayamón Vaqueras on a 4-game match before a nice crowd of 1,009. The team got off to a slow start, and had problems running the offense which gave the Vaqueras an early lead of one game to none. In the second game, however, the tables turned. Then it was the Pinkin giving the Vaqueras all kinds of problems with short serves and potent offense Cassie Busse, Jessenia Resto and Tejaira Ruíz. Corozal won the second and third game easily. In the fourth game, the Vaqueras showed resistance and lead for most of the match, but a serve ace late on the game proved the key for the lead for the Pinkin, who closed the game with a block by Jessica Candelario. Corozal won 3-1. Lead scorers were: Cassie Busse with 23 points (22 kills, 1 ace), Tejaira Ruíz 17 (15 kills, 2 aces), and Jessenia Resto 14.
